Free Ebooks for All!...

In 1971, long before computers were a fixture in most homes and offices, Michael Hart came up with the idea of digitizing and archiving books. With that, he created Project Gutenberg, the oldest digital library which today offers over 42,000 free ebooks. The volunteer run organization encourages the creation and distribution of ebooks in various downloadable computer formats, but also includes audio and books burnt onto disc for those who lack a speedy internet connection.
The selection of reading materials is vast and diverse, covering classic literature, reference books, and even historical documents like the United States Constitution. Adding fifty new ebooks each week to their growing database, Project Gutenberg is always looking for volunteers who want to contribute to the expansion of free books for all!
